Meet the 2 new members of UNICA’s Steering Committee

The leaders of UNICA member universities validated the application of Anne Weyembergh, Vice-Rector for External Relations and Development Cooperation at Université libre de Bruxelles, and elected Edith Buser, Deputy Vice President for Research at Paris Sciences et Lettres University (PSL), as members of the UNICA Steering Committee. The two new members join the three elected last year, bringing the group to its final composition of five members.

Meet the two new members:

Edith Buser, Deputy Vice President for Research at Paris Sciences et Lettres University (PSL)

Edith Buser is the Deputy Vice President for Research at Paris Sciences et Lettres University (PSL).​ Having started her career in the art world, for over 20 years she has developed expertise in the dissemination, transfer and use of research results in two member institutions of Paris Sciences et Lettres: Université Paris Dauphine- PSL and, since 2018, Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Arts Décoratifs (ENSAD). She has contributed to strengthening the integration of these institutions into European networks, notably by taking advantage of the various existing funding schemes (EU Framework Program in particular). Anne Weyembergh, Vice Rector for External Relations and Development Cooperation, Université libre de Bruxelles

Anne Weyembergh is Vice-Rector of ULB for External Relations and Development Cooperation since 2020. She is a Professor at the Université Libre de Bruxelles (ULB) and President of the Institute for European Studies of the ULB – IEE (since 2014). She founded and co-coordinates the European Criminal Law Academic Network (ECLAN) since November 2004. She is a Member of the Académie Royale des Sciences, des Lettres et des Beaux-Arts de Belgique (since 2017 – Classe des Lettres et des Sciences morales et politiques). She acted as an academic expert in various research projects for Committees of the European Parliament, most of them concerning EU criminal law.

The supplementary elections took place during UNICA’s General Assembly at Stockholm University on the 27th of June 2024. UNICA extends its heartfelt appreciation to all applicants in these elections.
