• All UNICA universities subscribe to a Mission Statement on Equal Opportunities (first signed on 15 December 2000)
• Minimum standards on access for persons with disabilities (recommendations for UNICA members prepared by the UNICA participants during the “Education for all” conference, University of Warsaw, 10-12 September 2007)

A UNICA working group "Equal opportunities" was created in 2003 and has been active until 2011 (see the list of activities below).

UNICA long-standing commitment in supporting equal opportunities and inclusiveness in Higher Education is alsp exemplified by its active involvement in different projects: ExchangAbility - Fostering Mobility of Students with Disabilities (coordinated by UNICA in cooperation with ESN and four UNICA members in 2010-2011), MappAbility and MappED! – Inclusive mobility (coordinated by ESN - Erasmus+ Strategic partnerships - 2015-2017), the TEMPUS project RUMI (Réseau Universités Marocaines pour l’Enseignement Inclusif, coordinated by UNICA, 2013–2017).

UNICA is a member of the Inclusive Mobility Alliance (IMA).

IMA was launched in December 2017 and gathers 21 organisations working on the topic of Inclusive Mobility with the following aims:

• enhacing the cooperation among partners from different fields with common interest around the topic of Inclusive Mobility;
• gathering existing material, resources and research papers about the inclusion of students and young people with disabilities in Erasmus+;
• drafting concrete recommendations on how to make the next Erasmus+ programme post-2020 more inclusive;
• creating a long-lasting Alliance working on the topic of Inclusive Mobility.
